Hustle with Hani: A Starter Pack to Building Your Business
Ever since we started Shakti Collaborative, we’ve been blown away by the number of South Asian entrepreneurs and business owners we’ve met. As we’ve seen the rise of entrepreneurship in our community, we’re often left wondering: How did they actually start their businesses? What was the first step? And what does it take behind the scenes to keep it all going?
Today we’re excited to introduce our new series with Hani Anis, founder of Anis Collections, a designer and creator of custom South Asian bridal wear. We love Hani because she’s incredibly real. She started her business as a senior in college, stemming from a personal passion and a desire to take a risk and try something new. Over the past two years, she’s grown Anis Collections from a college pursuit to a full time venture (and even worked a full time job in finance along the way!).
In this series, you’ll hear from Hani on everything you’ve wanted to know about starting a business: the nitty gritty details on branding, hiring vendors, working with family, traveling for work, managing your mental health and more. And best of all, you’ll learn Hani’s tips to thrive, not survive, as a business owner. Let’s get started!
